20-Second ArtBreaks, Coming to an IPad Near You

Move over Justin Bieber; art wants your MTV. Widely reported, a collaboration between MTV and P.S. 1, on an old-new format commercial art, rather art commercials, lasting 25-30 seconds, and featuring the likes of Richard Prince, the departed Jean-Michel Basquiat, and others who first dreamed up “Art Breaks,” when just lads. The segments will, air, yes, between the MTV programming sheets. Now, there are emerging or rising stars whom MOMA P.S. 1 , working with Creative Time, will “curate” into participation in this new hybrid between “Real Work of Art” and the art form formerly known as music video (commercial).
